FAQ

Questions concerning terminals and pins

Q:What is the minimum lot size for terminals and pins?
A:It depends on your requirements, but usually it is at least 10,000 units.
We may be able to handle smaller lot sizes depending on the circumstances,so please don't hesitate to contact us.
Q:How many days does it take from order to delivery?
A:If there are dies and materials, we can make the delivery in about two weeks.
Q:What kind of packaging do you use for shipments?
A:Terminals and pins are packed in special nylon bags or Tupperware according to the specs.
If the product requires deaeration or is sensitive to humidity, we will propose suitable packaging.
Of course, we can also ship according to your requested specs, so feel free to contact us.
Q:How do you form the products?
A:We use a method called heading (cold heading).
In this method, metal is shaped at room temperature by hitting it. It gets its name from the fact that the material is hit on the head.
Generally speaking, a large machine called a former is used in the process of making screws, rivets and automotive parts.
We built an original heading machine in-house specifically for thin wires 1.0 mm and under in diameter and manufacture pins and terminals that serve as contact points in various electronic components. See Processing Types for details.
Q:Can you do plating and surface treatment on pins and terminals?
A:We are able to perform various plating and surface treatments in our in-house processes and at our affiliated plants.
We can handle various specs, including gold, silver, copper, nickel and tin reflow, so feel free to contact us about your requirements.
Q:Can you make arrangements for the materials used?
A:We are able to procure most materials used in regular pins and terminals.
When it comes to materials for special specs, it may be cheaper for you to supply the materials yourself depending on the production lot,
so please check with us.
Q:What materials are generally used in pins and terminals?
A:Most of the material used in headed electronic components is copper or copper alloys.
The main materials used are C2600 (brass), C5191 (phosphor bronze) and C1020 (oxygen-free copper).
Iron and iron alloys (such as Kovar) are also often used.

Questions concerning automated machines

Q:Do you sell automated machines?
A:At this time we do not. We use these machines at FINECS plants, newly designing or customizing them according to customer specs.

Questions concerning trading arrangements

Q:Do you ship to other countries?
A:Yes, we can ship our products anywhere in the world.
The products we manufacture are relatively small, so the shipping cost per unit is small.
